ODESA – Demand for corn from the Black Sea region after the new year begins to return.

As noted, on January 25, 2022, corn export prices in main Ukrainian ports continued the trend of the end of last week and increased by 3-5 $/t up to 270 $/t.

Ukrainian corn is more focused on the handy and Panamax trade. Shipments by containers are not competitive.

The purchasing prices of Ukrainian milling wheat CPT Odesa decreased by 1-2 $/t compared to last week and amounted to about 308-310 $/t against the background of a large number of offers and still limited demand. Feed wheat prices are 288-290 $/t in ports.

However, more and more importers are beginning to express concerns about tensions between Russia and Ukraine, which could boost demand in the short term.
