ODESA: The requests for flaxseeds are regularly coming to Ukrainian suppliers from different countries. And this year the usual set of customers like Turkey, Egypt, Poland, and Belgium, has widened a lot. Even Canada is on the list of buyers. Shortage of the product worldwide and significant price growth made flaxseeds one of the most attractive products among oilseeds.
Actually, in Ukraine, very few farming enterprises specialise in flaxseeds only. As a rule, farmers have from 100 to 500 mts flax only. With such small quantities, they are not in a rush to sell the cargo. And against the background of constant and quick price increase, farmers are examining the traders asking the highest possible rates.
As a result, different market participants give FCA prices for flaxseeds, 98% purity, varying from 900 to 1000 $/t. If you have a strong interest, farmers and traders are ready to negotiate and give some discount. But the total price increase is hardly going to stop in the nearest future.
