Stepan Kapshuk, chairman of the Ukroliyaprom association, called on Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) to export up to 100 wagons of sunflower oil daily instead of the current 40 , and also to focus on the supply of Ukrainian agricultural products abroad. It is reported by UkrAgroConsult.
“Support the idea of prioritizing the delivery of agricultural goods at the government level,” Kapshuk said.
According to him, the export of sunflower oil is especially important for Ukraine, since it is much more profitable than the supply of corn and wheat, and an increase in shipments will support the work of local oil refineries, which are currently operating at a minimum load mode.
“Foreign exchange earnings from the sale of oil produced in the country for the year exceeds the proceeds from the sale of the harvest of these two crops combined, ” explained the chairman of Ukroliyaprom.
Valeriy Tkachev, Director of the Department of Commercial Work at Ukrzaliznytsia , in turn, noted that the company does not have the authority to prioritize some cargoes over others and must service all contracts concluded with it. As an alternative, Tkachev will offer to export oil by ships, since sending three tankers of 25 thousand tons per month will almost double the current export volumes.
In general, since the beginning of August, Ukrzaliznytsia has exported 71,000 tons of sunflower oil, as well as 78,000 tons of cake and meal of all kinds.
