According to Iran’s customs statistics in 2021, 3.704 tons of almond and almond kernels were exported from Iran. The export value of the mentioned crops was 32.320.000 USD in 2021. The average price of the exported almonds has been 8,72 USD per kilogram this year. Of this amount, 3.506 tons worth 31.811.000 USD related to the export of almond kernels, and 198 tons worth 509.000 USD related to the export of shelled almonds. So, about 94,7 per cent in terms of weight and 98,4 per cent in terms of the export value belong to the Iranian almond kernels. The average price of Iranian almond kernels for export is 9,07 USD per kilogram, and the average price per kilogram of Iranian shelled almonds for export is 2,57 USD.

The export amount of Iranian almonds and almond kernels has slightly increased in the twelve months of 2021 compared to the same period last year (twelve months of 2020). In 2020, the export of the mentioned crops was 3.479 tons worth 28.558.000 USD. In 2021, the export amount of these products had increased by 6.5 per cent in terms of weight and by 13,2 per cent in terms of export value compared to the previous year. Increasing the amount of production and available products in 2021 is one of the reasons for a rise in exports this year compared to the last year. It was the beginning of the pandemic of the Coronavirus in 2020. This epidemic could get controlled with the start of the vaccination process in 2021. This issue has facilitated trade conditions for export and eased the transportation process. These two factors are the most important in increasing the export of almond and almond kernels in 2021 compared to 2020. The export value has risen more than the export weight. The reason is that the price of each kilogram of Iranian almonds and almond kernels for export rose in 2021 compared to 2020. This rate was 8,21 USD, and it reached 8,72 USD, which indicates a growth of 6,2 per cent. Increasing the price of each kilogram of the mentioned products is due to the higher quality of available almond and almond kernels and more export demand in 2021 compared to 2020.
