BRNO – The Czech Statistical Office published an estimation for the new 2021 crop level of poppy seeds. According to this official information, they expect 31.000 mt poppy seed due to the forecasted average yield of around 0,70 mt/ha.
This estimation does apply to the whole sowed field area 44.000 ha. However, it is still questionable whether the previously reported fields remained intact, and no liquidation or damage decreased the number of hectares.
Harvest start is with trial cutting this week and with bigger volume in the next week.
