According to USDA experts, the corn sowing campaign in the US is nearing completion, and as of May 28, 92% of the planned areas were planted (+11% per week), which is higher than both the same period last year (84%) and the 5-year average (84%).
At the same time, the experts noted that as of the specified date, 69% of the corn crops were in good and excellent condition, compared to 73% in the same period last year.
It is also reported that as of May 28, the soybean sowing campaign in the country was completed by 83% of the plan (+17% per week), compared to 64% last year and 65% on average over the past 5 years. The oilseed has already sprouted in more than half of the areas.
