Kazakhstan and Spain are actively increasing their trade turnover. In 2022, trade between the countries grew by 41.7% and reached $2.6 bln. In the future, Kazakh companies can additionally export 90 processed goods to the Spanish market, including food products, for $660.1 mln. This was announced by the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev in Astana during the 10th meeting of the Kazakh-Spanish Intergovernmental Mixed Commission on Cooperation in the field of Economy and Industry.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Trade, the parties discussed a wide range of issues in the field of trade and economic cooperation, agriculture, renewable energy, education, infrastructure and aviation, urban development, digitalization, etc.

K. Torebayev emphasized the need for joint efforts to further increase the volume of bilateral trade.

Kazakhstan has sufficient potential to intensify foreign trade operations, including by creating conditions for direct contacts between economic entities of the two countries, more active participation in mutual investment projects, expanding the range of goods,” the Vice Minister noted.

According to official statistics, in the current season, Kazakhstan exported several small batches of lentils to Spain (508 tonnes in total). There were no deliveries of other grains and oilseeds, as well as products of their processing.
