The export of Iranian walnuts and walnut kernels increased in the first two months of this year compared to the same period last year. 41,991 kilograms of Iranian walnuts and walnut kernels worth 401,578 USD were exported from Iran in the first two months of 2022. Factors for the increase

The most important reason for the increase in the number of exports during this period is the rise in the number of available products and the increase in supply. The supply increase (which was caused by the increase in production) and the growth in the exchange rate of foreign currencies against the Rial caused the average price of each kilogram of walnuts and walnut kernels exported by Iran to decrease by 2.3 percent in the first two months of this year compared to last year. It has reached 9.25 USD from 9.56 USD.

Rise in demand

Over the past month, the price of Iranian walnuts and walnut kernels for export has grown in global markets. The main destination of this product is Iraq, and the most important reason for the increase in the price of this product in the domestic market of Iran and the global markets is the rise in demand for this product due to the arrival of Ramadan in Iran. In addition, the strengthening of the Rial and the decrease in the exchange rate of foreign currencies against the Rial are other reasons for the increase in the price of this product in the world markets. Compared to the previous month, the cost of Iranian in-shell walnuts has risen by 11 to 15 percent, and the price of Iranian walnut kernels has grown by 6.5 to 10 percent in the world markets.
