The biggest bird feed producers in Indonesia and Malaysia still demand Ukrainian millet despite the end of the season. However, they have one very dramatic condition: the color of the seeds should be LIGHT CREAMY. [swpm_protected visible_to=”logged_in_users_only” custom_msg=’This content is for members only. Thereby the debates between Ukrainian farmers and exporters run high because, for the first, there is a very inconclusive difference between creamy millet and light yellow millet. Even in the pictures traditionally requested by the buyers, it is hard to distinguish the color variations. The only comparison of samples can show the real situation. The problem is that there are still big stocks of yellow millet and minimal stocks of creamy. And there is a reason to argue about – the price difference between two colors is around 40-50 USD/mt nowadays. Yellow millet is traded around 280 USD/mt FCA Odessa, while the price for light creamy millet is around 320 USD/mt FCA Odessa.
