ODESA: During this week the purchasing prices for feed barley in the Danube and the Black Sea ports of Ukraine have slightly increased.
A gradual price increase was expected due to the increase in exports from Ukraine by sea and the decrease in the gross harvest this year. But the actual growth happened after the recovery of Chinese demand. China was the biggest buyer of Ukrainian barley last year, and now after some standstill returned to imports from Ukraine again.
Purchasing prices for barley on the basis of CPT in Odessa ports increased by 5-10 USD/t this week up to 175-185 USD/t, and by 300-600 UAH/t, up to 6300-7400 UAH/t.
