Current Scenario

Unicaps Sunflower seeds

Indian sesame seeds markets are almost stable. The Korean tender got delayed for various reasons, including the Chinese New Year Festival, which started on 1st February. It will now be announced next week. According to the brokers, there are no significant changes in sesame prices. In centres like Botad, revenue has come to a standstill. Farmers do not have good quality stocks.

Prediction

Mainly stockists and investors have supplies. They are in a position to sell goods in the event of a large purchase from India in the tender to be announced. However, the late tender counts were reversed.

Factors Affecting the Market

There is no significant movement in the market. While global trade has already stalled amid the growing burden of container fares, the volume of domestic work has also declined. Leading brokers say there is insignificant buying or almost nill orders in the sesame market.

Bottom-line

A similar situation is noticed in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Korea’s tender for sesame will be announced most probably next week, and if more purchases are made on India’s part, the effect will increase the volume of operations.

The Korean sesame tender is the base for markets to remain stable and active in the coming days. This week, scentresesame arrivals have increased by 20% in local mandis.
