During the first four months of the current year, 232 tons of Iranian dried figs worth 697,000 USD were exported from Iran to Vietnam. Also, 91 tons worth 316,000 USD were shipped to India. Another significant customers of Iranian dried figs for export have been Kazakhstan, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and Iraq since the beginning of this year.

The price of this crop has declined in world markets due to an increase in the foreign exchange rate against Rial compared to last month. In the meantime, the price of dried figs Grade A has declined less than other export types. Because in the first week of this one month, the cost of dried figs Grade A has increased due to rising demands, despite the decline in prices of other Iranian exported figs (due to the increase in the foreign exchange rate against the Rial). The foreign currencies have risen due to the uncertainty of negotiations between Iran and other member states of the JCPOA for returning Iran and the United States to the JCPOA agreements and lifting financial and banking sanctions on Iran. Compared to last month, the price of Iranian dried figs Grade AA and AAA have fallen by about 6.5 percent, and the cost of Iranian dried figs Grade A has declined by about 2.5 percent.
