Indian Chilli, Demand for New Crop Started Chilli remained low but future is strong

Red chilli witnessed a bearish trend. Guntur, January 3, 2022, Red chill prices were down in the markets of Guntur and Warangal. On Monday, due to subdued demand from the traders, stockists, and processors, the market remained low. However, buyers were interested in fresh crops, but the overall sentiment was down.

At Guntur market, red chilli varieties like 334, Syngenta and 355 byadgi, 273 and No-5, Bangaram were quoted flat but other varieties were priced down by 20$ per metric ton.

In new arrivals, DD, 341, Teja and Armor witnessed a rise in availability.

According to traders and farmers, buyers are switching to fresh crops, if the same variety is available in large quantities. Tendency is steady as of now and demand is good for new crops.

There are good arrivals of new crops in local markets today. New crop quality in chilli is expected to be good.
