The export rate of Iranian dates decreased in June 2022 compared to May 2022. The most important reason for the decrease in the export of this crop in June compared to May this year is the decline in demand and market inventory.

According to the Iran customs statistics, 8,002 tons of dates worth 5,728,000 USD were exported from Iran last month (June 2022). The average price of Iranian dates for export was 0.72 USD per kg during this period.

The export rate of Iranian dates decreased in June 2022 compared to May 2022. 8,670 tons of dates worth 6,487,000 USD (0.75 USD per kilogram) were exported from Iran in May this year. The exports have declined by 7.7 percent in terms of weight and by 11.7 percent in terms of export value in June compared to May. The most important reason for the decrease in exports in June compared to May is the decrease in demand and market inventory due to the approaching the end of the business year and starting to harvest the new product. The average price of Iranian dates for export decreased by 4 percent per kilogram in June compared to the previous month because of the reduction in the quality of the export product this month due to a sharp decline in crop quality during the end of the business year.

The export rate of Iranian dates has increased slightly in terms of weight in June 2022 compared to the same period last year (June 2021), despite the decrease in the exports in June this year compared to May. 7,900 tons of dates worth 6,191,000 USD (0.78 USD per kilogram) were exported from Iran in June 2021. The export of Iranian dates has risen by 1.3 percent in terms of weight, but it has decreased by 6.3 percent in terms of export value in June 2022 compared to the same time last year. The most significant reason for the decrease in the number of exports in terms of export value, despite the increase in its amount in terms of weight, is the export of date varieties at a lower price in June this year compared to last year.

Compared to last month, the price of Iranian dates for export has remained stable in the domestic market of Iran. However, the prices of all types of this Iranian export product in the world markets have been affected by changes in foreign exchange rates. The Dollar rate of Iranian dates for export has dropped by 6.5 percent due to the increase in the exchange rate of the Dollar against the Rial over the past month. Despite the rise in the rate of most foreign currencies in the last month in the Iranian market, the Euro rate remained stable in the Iranian market due to the decrease in value in the world markets. Also, the Euro rate of Iranian dates for export remained unchanged in the world markets compared to last month.
